15 years and Counting: Saran K Advaithan has Immense Faith in his Script

It’s difficult to find directors today who have a lot of confidence in their scripts. If one script doesn’t seem to be working, filmmakers tend to move on to another. However, such is not the case with Saran K Advaithan. He has been waiting to make his debut with his movie, Kalathur Gramam, for nearly 15 years now!

Said the exceptionally dedicated director, "In 2001, I had roped in Mammootty sir for a film, but the film didn’t materialise. I had the outline of Kalathur Gramam in 2004 and later developed it into a script. I had approached many producers, but they were all hesitant even after liking the script. The film would have worked well if it had released then." He further added, "Now, there are a lot of films in a similar pattern. But, I have immense faith in my script and I recently screened the film to the press. There was positive feedback and it has given me confidence." The confidence and faith he has shown in his script is truly remarkable!

Kalathur Gramam, set in the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border revolves around the conflicts that arise between Kishore and police officials when the former gets indulged in a particular activity. The team has given a lot of importance to make-up, as the movie is a period flick and will chronicle 30 years. The script looks promising enough and the director is ready to go to any length to make his work a success! Now that is called true commitment to one’s work. Desi Martini wishes Saran all the luck for his endeavor!
