Aditya Bharadwaj Coming Up With A Biopic On J Jayalalithaa

Aditya Bharadwaj had planned to make a biopic on late CM of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa. However, her sudden death led the producer to shelve the project. But, now we have heard that Aditya has again started working on the film.

Talking about it, he said, "When we planned this movie, Jayalalithaa was alive. We had already spent a year on a detailed research about her life and journey — from a popular actress to a powerful politician.” He added, "And then, in one public sabha, one of her associates made us meet her, and I told her I want to make a biopic on her. She smiled, and said, 'OK, we will talk about this later'. Post that, suddenly everything changed, and we had to shelve the project as the script had to be reworked."

The biopic will be a trilingual in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The makers have completed the script and are now working on the seventh draft. The movie which will be titled Thaai: Puratchi Thalaivi will go on floors by the end of January 2018 or beginning of February. When asked from Aditya about the actress who will be playing Jayalalithaa, he refused to divulge the name. 70 percent of the film will be shot in the studios in Mumbai where makers will show her early life as an actress, while the rest of the film will be shot in Chennai.
