Bringing recognition down south, Aiswarya R. Dhanush has been chosen as United Nations (UN) Women's Goodwill Advocate for India. She would be majorly contributing for UN’s aim to meet their goal 'Planet 50-50 by the year 2030'.

Talking about how she got the job, the daughter of superstar Rajinikanth said, “The initial interactions with the UN happened over social media. After that, they reached out to me asking what I could offer for their initiatives on gender equality and women's empowerment. Being a filmmaker, what I can do is to reach people through media and they're impressed with that”.

Aishwarya has now joined celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Emma Watson, and at home, Farhan Akhtar and Sania Mirza. She added that the time is changing and even the film industry is now making more female centric movies. Emphasizing on support a woman needs, it is basically the one she can get from home, their men.
