Amala Paul-Vijay Officially Divorced

Actress Amala Paul and popular director Vijay has now officially separated. The II Additional Principal Family Court, Chennai, has granted divorce. The former pair got married on June 12, 2014 and was living separately since March 3, 2015, chiefly due to difference of opinion among them. Amala was last seen in Amma Kanakku, Tamil remake of Bollywood hit, Nil Battey Sannata.

Amala and Vijay came close during the filming of Thalaivaa. Amala has worked in several industries, including Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. On the other hand, Vijay has also successfully directed various movies, namely Poi Solla Porom in 2008, Madrasapattinam in 2010, Thaandavam in 2012 and Devi in 2016.

The couple was granted divorce immediately after completing their six-month statutory judicial separation period. The other strong rumour was Amala’s wish to continue working as an actress, which was rejected by Vijay’s family.
