AR Rahman Turns 50 Today, Sister Isshrath To Release A ‘Mash Up Cover’

As AR Rahman celebrates his birthday today, the music fans all over the world are wishing the Oscar laureate many more successful years ahead. He rarely gives interviews and interacts with his fans, however, for his 50 th birthday, the maestro announced on his Twitter page, “Join me on Facebook Live on the 6th of January 2017, between 4.30 pm - 5 pm IST.”

Excited on her brother’s birthday, Isshrath Quadhre has dedicated her ‘Mash Up cover’ version of AR Rahman’s songs. Further, spilling the beans, Isshrath, said, “I wanted to do something different for my brother for his landmark birthday, when this idea struck. I took three of his chartbuster songs, from Bombay, Rangeela (Pyar Ye…) and Minsara Kanavu (Vennilave…) and rearranged them, retaining the same tune, and have sung them myself. I am dedicating the threeminute video cover version to my brother on his special day.”  

A close member to the family revealed that the AR Rahman would be sending dabbas of home cooked food to all his relatives and family friends as he does on his each birthday. It is also known that he has planned a party, which can be called as a get together for close producers, filmmakers and singers.
