Actor Balaji who debuted with Kadhal Solla Vandhen returns to the silver screen after a gap of one year in Nagarvalam which is directed by Markx. The movie which has released today shows the actor as a lorry driver who ferries water to metro areas which have scarcity of water. Balaji is paired opposite Deekshitha Manikkam in the movie.

“Nagarvalam is not a film on water scarcity, but a love story with a twist. The story is set in the backdrop of a housing board in Chennai. Balaji’s character meets a girl and falls for her instantly. The problems he faces at  work and whether he unites with his lover or not forms the crux. The story has also dealt with betrayal which forms the major element of the film,” said the film’s director.

Deekshitha is seen playing a girl who comes from a tenement house and waits to get admission in college. The first half of the movie will have Yogi Babu and Balasaravanan doing their comedy antics and will make people role into laughter, however the film goes off the tangent in the second part. The makers shot the second half of the movie during the night with rain serving as the backdrop. Pasupathy was also signed for a cameo in a dance sequence for a gana number.
