Censor Board Denies Certification To Metro, Calls Content Too Violent

The upcoming flick Metro has been stuck in a limbo after Censor Board has failed to give certification. The movie that stars Bobby Simha, Sendrayan and Sathya in leads is called to violent to be given the green signal. The film is second project for director Anandakrishnan after making Aal in 2014.

As per now, the movie without U, U/A or A certification would not be allowed to run in theatres that cause lot of frustration for the makers. "Had the censor board suggested any cuts, the director would have edited those scenes, but here, the board has problem with the core content of the film. They feel that the content — which is about chain snatching incidents and other major crimes in the city — is not only violent, but that some of the scenes are too explicit and might give impressionable youngsters negative ideas”, said a source.

On reaching out to writer-director for confirmation, Ananda Krishnan said, "Yes, the film has been denied certification. We have applied to the revising committee, they are yet to watch the film". The movie is produced by Jaya Krishnan and Anandakrishnan jointly under the banner of E5 Entertainments-Metro Productions.
