Cheran on his daughter’s issue: “My heart is injured”

Filmmaker-actor Cheran is going through hard time as his daughterDamini has raised a complaint against himwhich says that Cheran is objecting her relationship with her boyfriendChandru. Cheran, who was avoiding media from long, stated “I have been avoiding calls on this issue as I fear that this will depress me if I keep on talking about it. I am facing a personal crisis and I'm not thinking about anything other than my daughter at the moment.”

The actor is very sensitive at this issue and requested to see this matter with a father’s eye,"I know that I'm not a hero (like in the movies) to tackle this problem overnight. I'd request everyone to view me as a father who has been striving hard to provide a good life to his daughter. The case is in the court and I hope to get justice." Cheran adds saying that he is broken, “Can any father handle this with ease? It's only the affection that I have for my daughter that has given me the patience to endure all this pain."

The 3 times National award winner says that he is not upset with his daughter as she is just 20 and is not in a state of mind to understand anything, “I think this is the time to struggle for the good”. The film fraternity has been a great support for him, "My industry friends are with me. Many of them have called and spoken with me. My heart is injured and it's their support and words that are like a heart transplant for me."
