Chiranjeevi eyes Tamil market, his next film likely to be a bilingual

After making a smashing comeback with Khaidi No 150, which grossed over Rs 150 crore at the box-office, megastar Chiranjeevi will next be seen as a freedom fighter in Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy, and he has apparently already begun prepping for his role. The makers are considering making the film as a bilingual as the subject will appeal to universal audiences and they don’t mind exploring the possibility of catering beyond Telugu audiences.

“The makers are still contemplating the idea and discussions are underway. Since as a story it can appeal to a larger audience, they feel it’d make sense to release in Tamil as well. Even as a story, the legacy of Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy has only remained with Telugu people and this will be an opportunity to take it to wider audience. Moreover, Khaidi No 150 did very good business in Tamil Nadu as well and Chiranjeevi is quite known to everybody,” a source told HT.

To be produced by Ram Charan on a budget of over Rs 100 crore, the film will be directed by Surender Reddy. The film will be made on an epic scale and the makers are spending lavishly on set work and costumes and are very particular about leaving no stone unturned.
