Chiranjeevi’s surprise visit to Zanjeer team

In a pleasant surprise to the cast and crew of the Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra starrerZanjeerremake, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, who is father of the lead hero, paid a visit on the sets of the film. The megastar dropped by to check out son Charan in action and created a pandemonium as fans gathered to get a dekko of him. "I've never seen anything like this before. Therewas a serpentine queue of fans who wanted autographs and pictures of Chiranjeevi sir. Everything came to a standstill," said director Apoorva Lakhia.

Producer Amit Mehra, son of Prakash Mehra who produced the originalZanjeer, said, "I always wondered what would it be like if dad were alive to see me produce the remake of his iconic film. When Chiranjeevi sir came on the sets, it felt like dad was there. We had a long conversation and he was happy with the way the film is shaping up." Chiranjeevi spent a few hours on the sets and also had lunch with the cast and crew.
