Cinematographer Ravi Varman Joins Mani Ratnam’s Next Starring Dulquer Salmaan, Karthi

Mani Ratnam has reportedly joined hands with cinematographer Ravi Varman for his upcoming multi-starrer project with Dulquer Salmaan, Keerthi Suresh and Karthi. The director has collaborated with many cinematographers in the past, which include Rajiv Menon, Santosh Sivan, Ravi K Chandran and P.C. Sreeram. But this is his first association with Ravi Varman, who is behind the lens for many popular films such as Dasavatharam, Vettaiyadu Vilayadu and Anniyan. Ravi has also worked for Bollywood films like Barfi!, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and upcoming flick Tamasha.

It is said that the project will go on floors in September, after Karthi and Dulquer complete their ongoing assignments. Also, it is said that Keerthana Parthiepan, daughter of actor-director R. Parthiepan, will assist Mani Ratnam for the flick. As per the reports, A.R. Rahman will compose music for the flick. 

The film hasn’t been titled yet. But a source told Hindustan Times, “The makers have recently registered the title Komaali, but it's not sure if it's for this film”. The makers are eyeing for Pongal 2016 release of the film.
