Dhanush Watched Numerous Short Films Before Taking The Plunge To Direct

Dhanush is a multi talented person. He is an actor, singer, lyricist and a producer. And now he has another feather in his cap and that is directing. His directorial debut Pa. Pandi received a lot of appreciation from his fans as well as from critics.

The actor says that he is enjoying every phase of directing. He watched many short films before trying his hands in directing. "I have wanted to direct for quite some time, but I wanted to be ready and know what I am doing. I wanted to know the basics. I made 17 short films to try and understand the craft by making mistakes. But this doesn't mean that I am ready now... I still feel I am not ready yet, but sometimes, you just need to have blind faith and take the plunge. I think I just did that," said Dhanush.

When quizzed about whether he found it difficult to cast for the movie, Dhanush said that it was a little difficult for him to cast someone for the role of Pandi. However, the Kolavari singer said that Raj Kiran's name strike in his head while he was shooting for Vada Chennai. The 33 year-old has said that he is overwhelmed with the responses that he is receiving for his debut directorial.
