Director R. Subramanian Talks About His Next ‘Saavi’ Starring Sunu Lakshmi

Filmmaker R. Subramanian wielded the megaphone for ‘Sevarkodi’ (2012) and has apparently been on a hiatus since then. Now, the director, who also wrote Prakash Raj’s ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ dialogues, is back in action. Subramanian’s next is titled ‘Saavi’, starring Prakash Chandra and Sunu Lakshmi in the lead roles.

It’s a known fact that a thriller drama, directed by Karthik Raghunath, with the same name was released with Sathyaraj in the lead in 1985. About the upcoming film, Subramanian was quoted as saying, “This film has nothing to do with the earlier one. We have sought permission from the makers of Saavi for the title and it was Sathyaraj sir who unveiled our audio”.

“The title has a relevance to the story as the hero plays a guy who makes duplicate keys. Sunu Lakshmi will be seen as a sales girl. The straight-forward hero is caught in a serious predicament due to circumstances. How he comes out of it forms the rest”, Subramanian continued.

On a related note, the film is being bankrolled by Mr. Prakash Chandra.
