Director Of 'Thoongavanam' Refuses It To Be Remake of 'Sleepless Night'

A neo-noir action thriller titled 'Thoongavanam' has reached to its final stage of production. It is being anticipated that the film will be released by the first week of November. The director of the movie, Rajesh M Selva, recently in an interview refuted that the film is a remake of a French movie named ‘Sleepless Night’ (French: Nuit Blanche).

The movie features Kamal Hassan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Kishore and Asha Sarath. The film, which is a bi-lingual, is being simultaneously shot in Telugu as ‘Cheekati Rajyam’ with the same cast. The project is being jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sri Gokulam Movies.

The trailer of the film was released on Sept. 17 on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The fans gave a great response to the trailer of the Kamal starrer. The director of the movie made it clear that the story of the French Film has been used, but the flick is not an exact remake.
