However, the news is that thespian’s family who owns the theater has decided to convert the complex into a shopping mall.

Many fans and experts have refuted the idea while arguing that the structure is symbolic and should stand its ground. It is known for the era where Nadigar Thilagam blockbuster films earned the cheering of audiences. The theater was visited by many old-timers to relish memories of their favourite yesteryear star.

However, bringing some relief to fans, Prabhu has assured that the new multiplex will have all the old memorabilia including exclusive photographs of Sivaji with dignitaries all round the world. Moreover, the complex will retain its name, Shanthi. Sivaji Ganesan earned himself great success and a title calling him ‘The Marlon Brando of Indian Cinema.’
