G. Marimuthu’s next Is A Period Film Based On A Real Life Story

G. Marimuthu is a film director and actor in Kollywood. He has helmed two Tamil films and is geared up for his third one. Marimuthu has also worked as an actor in more than 20 films. His next directorial is based on a real-life story and will narrate the lives of shepherds.

Titled as Thorati, the film depicts a specific community. Talking about it, the filmmaker said, “It is not a documentary, it is a pucca commercial story but shot in a realistic manner. While Shaman Mithru plays the male lead, actress Sathyakala will be the female lead. The film will mark Mithru’s debut into acting.

Explaining the title of the film, he said, “Thorati is the long stick with a hook attached to its end which is used to pluck leaves from high tree trunks for feeding their herd. If needed, these people use them as weapons as well. And there’s a superstitious belief and unbelievable traditions behind Thorati. How a malicious group enters this simple people’s lives to create chaos forms the rest”.
