Rajiv and Rahman’s first two films were critically accliamed Minsara Kanavu (1997) and Kandukodein Kandukondein (2000).

The flick will mark the third Tamil film by director-cinematographer Rajiv Menon, after nearly a decade and a lustrum. An industry insider told the media, “This will be a very important film for all three stars. Director Rajeev Menon has come up with this script after doing extensive research. Although it is a research-based script, it will also be a thorough commercial entertainer”.

According to reports, Prakash will only act and not join hands with uncle Rahman to score the music. A source was reported as saying, “Rahman sir is excited about this project. He was very impressed by the script. Only he will score this film's music. G. V. Prakash will not be involved”. The Trisha Illana Nayanthara actor is busy with films like Enakku Innoru Per Irukku, Ketta Payanda Indha Karthi and Kadavul Irukkuran Kumaru, at the moment.
