Gautham Menon On His Very Own Idea Of Love

Director who has made enormously successful love movies such as Aiyaram (VA) and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) shares his views on love. Gautham Vinnaithaandi Menon talked on how love plays an important role in his every movie and the way he showcases it. “It comes naturally, I don't think much about it. Many times, I'm not able to write even a word for months, and sometimes, it's an unstoppable flow”.

Renowned director added, “It starts off with an idea of love. Like this Simbu film (Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada) I'm doing... It started with two people who meet in a situation and how he is attracted to her. I'd no idea where I was taking this forward when I was writing this part, but I knew he likes bikes and I said, 'Let me do a road trip'”.

While discussing about how he chooses the female character for the movie, he responded by saying, “The foundation is my mother and my two sisters, and my wife, Preethi, who was my friend for a very long time. I grew up listening to them talk about clothes, dance and boys. There was always a bunch of girls at home.”
