    The Southern composer – singer G.V. Prakash Kumar is going to have another Bollywood outing post his successful stint with Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur. Now he has been signed up to compose the background score for Hindi film Guns of Banaras which is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Pollathavan. The original film also had music by Prakash.

    Ganesh Venkatraman, who will be seen as one of the leads in the film, told, "I have been told by my producer that G V Prakash has been roped in to compose the background music for our film 'Guns of Banaras'. Since he composed the music for the original, the makers thought it would make sense to have him on board.” He added, "I don't know if the paper work has been completed, but my producer confirmed that they have zeroed in on Prakash.”

    Prakash has worked in other Bollywood films too like Kashyap's upcoming film Ugly and Shirish Kunder's sci-fi comedy Joker. Directed by Shekhar Suri, Guns of Banaras also features Karan Nath, Vinod Khanna, Nathalia Kaur, Abhimanyu Singh and Namrata Shirodkar. Prakash, who is a renowned name in the music industry for his successful journey in Tamil films with Pattiyal, Thalaivaa and Raja Rani, is also gearing up for his acting debut with Tamil film Pencil. He has also tried his hands in production with the upcoming Tamil rural drama Madhayaanai Kootam.
