HC Seeks Action Into Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ Pricey Tickets

HC Seeks Action Into Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ Pricey Tickets

The Madras High Court today, on October 1, sought to know from Tamil Nadu government the action they had taken on a petitioner's representation about alleged exorbitant ticket rates levied for Rajinikanth starrer 'Kabali'. The petition was filed by G. Devarajan a few weeks after the release of the film. Now, Madras High Court has decided to peep into the issue.

According to Devarajan’s report, he had purchased two tickets for 'Kabali' at a theatre in Tamil Nadu on July 20 for Rs. 300 each. However, as per the government fixed rate, the theatre should have charged just Rs. 50 for one ticket. Therefore, he came up seeking action against theatre owners who were allegedly charging more than the government fixed rates.

Devarajan exposed that he complained about this to all the concerned authorities, but no action was taken by them in this matter. As a result, he was forced to move court. The court recorded the Government Pleader's undertaking and posted the matter to October 21, saying the report should have details of the action taken on the petitioner's representation.
