Here’s Everything You Want To Know About 7 Naatkal

Director Gautham VR’s 7 Naatkal has been in the news for quite a long time. Touted to be a murder mystery, the film stars Shakthi P Vasu, Nikesha Patel, Ganesh Venkatraman, Prabhu, Nasser, Rajeev Pillai and MS Bhaskar in prominent roles. The flick revolves around searching a killer who has committed two murders.

Talking about the movie, Gautham said, “When my father wrote this script for Sivaji Productions, it was decided that Prathap Pothen will direct the venture with Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar as the hero. Later, the film didn’t materialise and we pitched the story to Jayam Ravi. The actor loved the script, but he couldn’t commit to our project as he felt that his film Dhaam Dhoom was similar to it — there are a lot of chase sequences in the venture. Later, when I finished graduation and worked as an associate with Sundar C, I thought of revamping the script and make it my debut film.”

The director further added that his father wrote the script 10 years back. He also asserted that the core plot of the movie has remained the same while characterisations and screenplay have been changed to suit the current year. Another interesting aspect to watch out in the movie is Korean imported Siberian Husky named Poong, who plays an important role in the film.
