I Want To Be Proud Of The Work I Do: Wamiqa Gabbi

Wamiqa Gabbi made her Kollywood debut with the film ‘Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ which was released in January last year. She shared screen space with Balakrishna Kola in the film, which was directed by Gitanjali Selvaraghavan. The actress was lauded for her performance in a serious role which helped her in making a mark in the industry.

Talking about her career, Wamiqa shared that she doesn’t work in films to get fame but, to be proud of what she does. “My ambition with regard to cinema is not to get famous. I want to be proud of the work I do. So when a strong female character like that in MNM came my way, I couldn’t say no”, the actress explained.

Wamiqa has also signed a project that stars SJ Suryah and Sshivada in the lead roles. The film has been titled ‘Iravaakaalam’ and its teaser trailer was recently released. Talking about the script for the film, the actress said that she got the English version of the script and it was engaging. She will start shooting for her portions later this month.
