Ilaiyaraja, Panchu Arunachalam Bringing Their Talents Together After 21 Years

The forthcoming film titled Muthuramalingam will mark the return of lyricist Panchu Arunachalam working with composer Ilaiyaraja after 21 years. A source close to Panchu stated that Ilaiyaraja approached the lyricist to write the song, to which he agreed. Rajadurai will direct the film.

Talking about the duo working together, the source said, “It’s an important film...in the sense that, by writing the lyrics for this film, Panchu Arunachalam sir will earn the distinction of having written songs for films across three generations of heroes from the same family. He wrote the songs for Mayangugiral Oru Madhu for Muthuraman sir, then for En Jeevan Paaduthu and Chinna Kannama, which featured actor Karthik in the lead and now, Muthuramalingam for Karthik’s son Gautham who plays the lead in the film”.

This definitely comes as great news for music lovers as the possibility of something great coming out of this partnership is tremendous. The Maestro recently completed his 1000th film and Muthuramalingam will add another project in that long list. Panchu is known for his work in movies like Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai and Annakili.
