It Will Inspire Athletes Like Me, Says Mariyappan Thangavelu On His Biopic

With Bairavaa trailer release and audio launch of Dhanush’s next flick, Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta, a lot was there to cheer about for Kollywood fans this New Year. However, no one was expecting Aishwaryaa Dhanush to launch her forthcoming project’s first look poster. In the season of sports biopic, the ‘3’ director is set to make another biopic of Paralympic gold medal winner Mariyappan Thangavelu.

Talking about the flick, Mariyappan said, “I think this film will inspire other athletes and sportspersons like me, who are from rural backgrounds. In that way, I really feel happy about this project.” The athlete went on by saying, “The makers approached me two months ago to make my story into a film, but the contract has not been signed yet. I have been given a date to come to Chennai for the formal proceedings.”

Mariyappan was asked if there would be any fictional element in the flick as well. The 21-year-old athlete cleared it, “No. It will be my life story only.” Mariyappan is also excited to get a chance to meet his superstar Rajinikanth and proudly calls himself to be great fan of his movies.
