Jackie Shroff to Play Antagonist in Maayavan

While director Nalan Kumarasamy and producer C.V. Kumar await the release of their second film together, Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, the antagonist for their next film has been finalized. Reportedly, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has been roped in for the same. Maayavan will mark the veteran actor’s third in Kollyood industry.

C.V. Kumar who is turning director for the first time with Maayavan confirmed the reports. “It is a very powerful role and we felt that a person of Jackie Shroff's stature was required to pull it off. We met the actor in Mumbai last week and after hearing the narration, he immediately agreed because his character is very crucial to the plot”, the Pizza producer said.

Jackie Shroff made his Tamil debut with the gangster movie Aaranya Kaandam followed by Kochadaiyaan released in 2014. He played an aging gangster in his debut and will be seen in a don-like-character in his third. The actor will start shooting for after April 4, when the next schedule of the movie begins. Maayavan features Sundeep Kishan and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles.
