Jayalalithaa’s 1973 Flick Suryagandhi To Be Digitised And Re-Released Soon

After Sivaji Ganesan’s Karnan flick being digitally re-touched and re-released, it is now Jayalalithaa and Muthuraman-starrer Suryagandhi, which will go through same process. The 1973 flick will be worked upon again revealed a close source.

"The film, which revolves around the relationship between a husband and his wife, holds relevance even today. The film touched upon the ego hassles that a man has when his wife starts earning more than him. This happens today, too. So, the makers wanted to re-release the film by digitising it”, he said.

The source added that it will be converted into the cinemascope format. Moreover, the maker will retain the black-and-white format and will not fiddle with its colour. During the year of its release, the movie won Best Actress from the Tamil Nadu for her performance.
