Kaliru Exposes Politicians Behind Honour Killing

Director Sathya’s upcoming film Kaliru exposes the politicians who are behind honour killing in South Tamil Nadu. Anu Krishna, who floored everyone with her amazing performance in Ilami, is the female lead. She is cast opposite debutant Vishwak in the film.

Talking about roping in the actors for the movie, Sathya said, “I wanted a fresh pair without any image trap for the sensitive subject. Both have meaty roles.  Though the film is about honour killing, I am not taking sides to any one.”

He added, “It is a realistic take on the situation which exposes the opportunist politicians and those in power.” The director also said that before embarking on the project, he also did research. Apart from Vishwak and Anu Krishna, the movie will also feature Deepa Jayan and Neeraja. Kaliru is touted to be a realistic film without any commercial elements. CPS and Appu Studios have produced the flick.
