    Kamal Haasan Promotes Heirloom Seeds

    It seems Kamal Hasan is trying to connect with people through his social work. His aspiration for politics clearly reveals in his work. The actor, who is trying to follow the footsteps of his old friend Rajnikanth, was seen unveiling the poster of Naanum Vivasaayi. It is an initiative for promoting the use of heirloom seeds.

    The awareness program was conducted on farming methods and usage of natural manures, which was jointly organised by actor Aari's Maaruvom Maattruvom Foundation, Satyabhama University and Trans India. It is also an attempt to enter Guinness Book of World Records. Naanum Vivasaayi is set to create awareness about the importance of our traditional indigenous seeds.

    Kamal said that it is harmful to use pesticide sprays for preventing insects in hybrid seeds and we should avoid them. He revealed that we have lost 70 percent of heirloom seeds for which we have to strive for preserving the rest. Around 5000 people will take part in the event which is said to include students, farmers, celebrities, social activists at Aavanipur village near Tindivanam, on August 26th.
