Kamal Haasan receives prestigious Padma Bhusan, Shruti Haasan shares pleasure

It was an honourable day for prominent actor-director-producer Kamal Haasan as he was presented with one of the biggest civilian awards, Padma Bhusan, yesterday. President Pranab Mukherjee handed away the award to the actor in the Capital at a grand event. Kamal’s daughter Shruti felt like “a proud daughter” yesterday.

Kamal said that this honour will act like a special drive to do better work in future than he has ever done. Shruti, who has also become a household name now, has been the biggest fan of her talented father. He has always been an inspiration for her though his name has never privileged Shruti in the film industry. An elated Shruti took to her Twitter page to share her excitement after her father was honoured with Padma Bhusan, "I am such a proud daughter today, congratulations, Bapuji!"
