    Kannada film actor H.N. Hemashree murder still a mystery


    There is no breakthrough in popular Kannada film and television actor H.N. Hemashree’s murder case till now though her husband Janata Dal (Secular) member R. Surendra Babu has been taken into study for questioning. Surendra told the police that Hemashree died on Tuesday due to head injuries that occurred after she developed convulsions but the officials were not convinced with his statement.

    Surendra said the couple was driving to Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh when Hemashree developed convulsions, suffered head injuries and collapsed and then he rushed her to Baptist Hospital in Hebbal where doctors declared her brought dead. But the hospital staff’s said, “When she was brought to the casualty, her body had already [in rigor mortis]. This means she would have died six to eight hours before she was brought to the hospital”. The Hebbal police had detained Babu yesterday evening as the post-mortem reports suggested foul play and the viscera was sent to the Forensic Sciences Laboratory. Hemashree’s father H.T. Nagaraj had filed a case in the Hebbal police station. The couple had married in 2011 but they had been having problems and Hemashree had complained to Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), T. Suneel Kumar about her husband last month.
