Karthik Naren’s Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru Is All Business

Karthik Naren is set to release his directorial debut Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru with Rahman as lead on December 30. This 22-year-old mechanical engineer from Kovai is not into fancy movies and has a flick which would turn audiences into detective with this crime thriller. He has previously directed successful short films such as Oomai Kural and Pradhi, but this would be his first feature film.

“The screenplay and content are the highlights of my movie. When you watch the film, it will give you the feeling of reading a crime thriller novel,” Karthik said. Giving more insight into the film, he added, “The film begins from the middle of the story. There is no heroine and it is sans songs.”

Karthik was asked how he settled on casting Rahman for the lead role, and here what he had to say, “I wanted a 50-plus protagonist who would play a cop. He had to have a tough look and physique. This cop won’t raise his voice, nor will he use muscle power.” Karthik further revealed that the cop will investigate the issue based completely on his intelligence.
