Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Iraivi’ Postponed Yet Again

Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Iraivi’ has faced repeated postponements in the past. The moviegoers are eagerly waiting for the mufti-starrer film but they have been let down time and time again by the makers. Now, reports suggest that the film has been postponed yet again.

 Latest reports suggest that the flick has been pushed back to June 3. Earlier, the film was slated for a May 20 release, but since two big films ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’ and ‘Marudhu’ will release on the same date, the makers opted to postpone the film. The film has completed its censor formalities today and has bagged a ‘U/A’ certificate.

Recently during an interview to a leading daily, Karthik Subbaraj said that ‘Iraivi’ is not a feminist film. He said, “Iraivi is about women, men and their priorities. It talks about women’s freedom, how men look at it and how women use it. It’s neither preachy nor is it about women’s empowerment”. C. V. Kumar has bankrolled the venture and it features S. J. Surya, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Anjali and Karunakaran.
