Kochadaiiyaan teaser goes viral on YouTube on its opening day

Southern superstarRajinikanth’smass appeal has helped the filmmakers once again, it seems. After the trailer of the much-awaitedmotion capture 3D flick Kochadaiiyaan was launched just a day ago, it has already hit a massive 4.2 lakh views within just 12 hours of its release.

But most of Rajini fans described the 1.15 minute teaser as ‘childish’ and ‘amateurish’. In the teaser Rajini is portrayed in an ‘animated’ version as an ancient king who is riding towards the battleground. After surveying his kingdom the king also dances in repentance. The teaser begins with the words, ‘There are heroes. There can be superheroes. But there is only one...Rajinikanth’. Being directed by Rajini’s daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin, the film also stars Deepika Padukone and Sarath Kumar among many others. The film has music by the legendary A.R. Rahman. After being shot for two years, the film is presently in its post-production stage.

Social media analyst Shankar, who is also a noted blogger, said, “It is a clear sign that social media marketing is coming of age in India, especially in the entertainment segment.” He also added, “But it is still in a nascent stage in Tamil films and only big names like Rajinikanth are able to pull in the numbers that can make producers sign a cheque for vigorous paid online promotions.” Director Ashwin tweeted,“Next teaser will reveal the stunning looks of the beautiful Vadhana Devi (Deepika’s character).” Hence the upcoming month of October will see some more excitement with some more looks to be revealed and definitely the much-awaited audio launch of Kochadaiiyaan.
