Lakshmi Menon to turn student activist in her next

Actress Lakshmi Menon will appear as a student activist in Sippai. A source informed, “The film focuses on a social issue, and is about how youngsters rise to the occasion and revolutionize society. Lakshmi Menon plays a student activist in the film. She, along with her group, travels to places and puts up street plays to create awareness about issues that plague the society. In fact, her opening scene features her staging a march against smoking and drinking. The team shot one such sequence a couple of months ago. Lakshmi had to practise hard to get her pitch and tone right for the theru koothu portions, and shot the sequence for over a period of three days.”

The film will be a directorial piece of Saravanan. The filmmaker said, “The film will be an out-and-out commercial youth entertainer set against a college backdrop.” The movie will feature Gautham Karthik, Lakshmi Menon, Ashvin Raja and Vibha Natarajan in the key roles. Producer G.V. Srinath Raju will produce the flick and Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose tunes for it. Presently, the film is on the floors and its release date has not been declared yet.
