Lakshmi to play a 57-year-old woman in her next directorial venture

Actress-turned-director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan is all geared up for her third directorial venture.  The actress who has appeared in many Tamil films made her debut as a director with drama film Aarohanam. Lakshmi will also be playing one of the leads in the film.

Talking to a leading English daily, Lakshmi confirmed, "I will play the role of a 57-year-old woman in the film. It's a very different character, and I am excited about it. This is the first time I have decided to play the lead character in a film that I am directing. I know it's going to be a tough job for me, as I have to work hard behind the cameras too. But I want to take it up as a challenge and play this role."

"Subbalakshmi paati, who had previously acted with me in Simbu's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya,will play the other lead in the film. She plays the role of a 80-year-old woman. There is also the role of a 24-year-old man, but I'm yet to decide on who will play that role," she further added.
