Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s third directorial venture Ammini to go on floors

Actress  Lakshmy Ramakrishnan who turned director with Aarohanam and rose to fame with Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, is all set to work in her next venture titled Ammini. The actress-turned-filmmaker launched her third directorial with a simple pooja in Chennai. According to the latest reports, Ramakrishnan will also be writing the film.

When asked if the movie will be women-centric, Lakshmy clears the air saying, "No, not at all. The title might suggest that it is a female-centric project, but in fact, it has something for everyone. I took the commercial route in my last film and the film before that was on a different genre. So, I believe in giving my audience something new with every film I make."

Talking more about the theme of the film, she says, "The theme of the film is universal. Happiness, if you see, is usually given a form. We relate to happiness in many different ways. In this film, I want to explore the idea of happiness, so I can't really categorise it into any particular genre."

"Ammini is inspired from an interesting character whom I met a couple of months ago. She had penetrated into me, and so did her concept of living. She made me realize the values of life, which many of us do not understand or try to understand. She taught me the fact that there is a life beyond economical dependence. This is what Ammini all about. I have weaved in some interesting characters and intriguing incidents as a pillar of strength to support the basic idea. We are yet to finalise the star cast and the technicians," reveals Lakshmi.
