Legendary Actor Chakravarthy Is No More!

Yesteryear veteran Vinu Chakravarthy has passed away after fighting through a prolonged illness. He had worked in over hundreds of flicks, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Badaga, until early 2000s. The multitalented star was 74 and is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

He was also referred to as Rajinikanth’s lucky co stars, with over 20 flicks together. The list includes Manithan, Siva, Guru Sishyan, Thambikku Entha Ooru, Arunachalam, Veera and Mappillai. What was so special about Vinu, was his comic timing and unique way of dialogue delivery. He started his career as a reserved sub-inspector and then went to become the station master.

Interestingly, it was Vinu who brought in Silk Smitha in industry with his movie Vandhichakram. One can also remember as being vocal about depiction of former in Ekta Kapoor’s flick Dirty Picture. He was lauded for coming out in wheelchair to cast his vote during 2015 Nadigar Sangam elections.
