    Legendary Composer M. S. Viswanathan Passes Away

    Tamil composer M. S. Viswanathan took his last breadth at a Chennai hospital on Tuesday morning. The 87-year-old composer was suffering from various old-age diseases and also had breathing problems. Reportedly, MSV was showing improvements but suddenly his condition deteriorated.

     Viswanathan’s music was very popular in Kollywood industry. He started his career with Tamil film Panam in 1952. By far, the legendary music director had composed for 1700 films. Apart from Tamil films, he has also contributed to Telugu and Malayalam cinema.

    MSV got chance to work with 3 Tamil Nadu chief ministers- MG Ramachandran, M Karunanidhi and J Jayalalithaa in his career. He is most popular for his work in films such as Bama Vijayam, Deivamagan, Galatta Kalyanam, Rickshawkarana, Moondru Dheivangal and Bharatha Vilas. Viswanathan’s wife passed away in 2012. His composer friend T.K. Ramamurthy also passed away a year later. The last rites of the music composer, who is survived by 4 sons and 3 daughters, will be performed on Wednesday.
