    Legendary filmmaker K Balachander shifted to ICU, condition stable

    Veteran Tamil filmmaker K Balachander who was earlier admitted to the Cauvery hospital in Mumbai following the urinary infection, has now been shifted to the ICU. The condition of the senior filmmaker is being reported to be critical but the doctors say it is stable.

    K Balachander has directed more than 150 films and is credited to have launched senior actors like Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan and Prakash Raj. The team at the Cauvery hospital made an official statement out regarding filmmaker’s health that read, “Veteran film director K. Balachander has developed urinary tract infection and has been admitted to the ICU for further treatment. He is critical but his general condition is stable. He is being ably managed by a team of doctors.”

    Balachander who has to his prized credit some great movies like Aval Ora Thodar Kathai, Apoorva Raagangal and 47 Natkal, was visited by almost all big names of the Tamil industry. Right from Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan to Mani Ratnam, the director was seen being blessed with visitors. Let’s hope for his speedy recovery.
