Mahendran To Star In Balaji Tharaneetharan’s Next

Director Balaji Tharaneetharan has signed in director Mahendran to play an important role in his next film Seethakathi which stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. Mahendran earlier played an antagonist in Vijay's Theri. The movie will start rolling from next week.

"The film has no hero-heroine type roles. In fact, Vijay Sethupathi, who plays a stage artiste, is not exactly the hero of the film. He plays a key role, though the screen time will be less. But the entire story revolves around his character. Director Mahendran is also playing an important role. As the plot relies on his character, I don't want to reveal anything about his role now,” said Balaji.

The story of the movie revolves around an actor but will be entertaining as it will have some comedy elements. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen playing a character named Ayya, who is a theatre artist. Though Vijay will not be paired with any female in the film, but actresses Remya Nambeesan, Gayathrie and Oviya have been signed in to make guest appearances in the film. The makers are also planning to rope in other actresses for cameos.
