Mandira Bedi will be making her Kollywood return for the film ‘Adangathey’ which stars GV Prakash Kumar and Sarath Kumar in lead roles. Her last Kollywood venture was Simbu's 2004 film ‘Manmadhan’ where she played a glamorous doctor. In ‘Adangathey’, the actress will be playing the role of a cop.

Debutant director Shanmugam Muthusamy spoke about Mandira’s character and shared, “This character is that of a north Indian, and I was looking for someone who isn't too slim or curvy, nor too young or old for this role. I follow Mandira on social media, and when I saw those pictures, I knew she would be the right one for the role. Even she was surprised when I met her to narrate the story, and asked, 'How did you think of me for such a role?”.

He also revealed that Mandira and Sarath will not be paired. Sarath will play the role of a politician with a bearded look. ‘Adangathey’ will be released next year with music by G. V. Prakash Kumar and cinematography by P. K. Varma.
