Mani Ratnam’s Next To Be Bankrolled Under Madras Talkies Not Sri Thenandal Films

Yesterday, it was reported that Mani Ratnam has collaborated with leading production company Sri Thenandal Films for his next. It was being said that Sri Thenandal Films will bankroll the film. But the film will not be funded by the production house.

Reports suggest that Sri Thenandal Films has only bagged the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of the flick, and the film will be bankrolled under Madras Talkies banner. The production house confirmed the news on Twitter and tweeted, "We are very happy to associate with Dir #Maniratnam & @MadrasTalkies_ in his next Project starring Karthi!" However, many believed that it is going to produce the multilingual movie. Reacting to it, the company added, "@rameshlaus @MadrasTalkies_ We will be taking care of Tamil Nadu distribution. Not production.. :). [sic]".

Karthi plays the male lead in the yet-to-be titled venture, while Mollywood beauty Sai Pallavi will be seen playing the female lead. The project was supposed to go on floors in June but reportedly, it has now been pushed back to September. A.R. Rahman will be scoring the music for the film.
