Just like their fathers, Manoj K. Bharathi and Yuvan Shankar Raja are coming together for Manoj’s directorial debut. Manoj is the son of Iyakkunar Imayam Bhrathiraja, who made his directorial debut with the film 16 Vayadhinile. The music for 16 Vayadhinile was scored by Yuvan’s father Isaignani Ilaiyaraja.

Manoj has had experience in the direction department as he previously worked as an Assistant Director to Shankar in Enthiran. The debutant director also worked with Mani Ratnam on Bombay. His first film will have a comical outlook. With the cast and crew still in development, Manoj has stated that Yuvan will be providing the music for the film.

It was speculated that Manoj will remake his father’s film Sigappu Rojakkal but the director stated that he has postponed that project. Through the 1980s, the duo of Iyakkunar and Ilaiyaraja has created several classics. Will the next generation follow the same path?
