Maya Relishing Her Acting

Singer-turned-actress Maya is loving her new career. Though her debut film Vaanavil Vaazhkai may not have come out as expected, but she is positive over her upcoming films. The actress will be seen next in Shankar's 2.0 and Bramma's Magalir Mattum, playing crucial roles.

"I am from Madurai. I moved to Bangalore to do my engineering. It was one of those instances when I came to Chennai to meet my sister. I have two elder sisters, who are trained classical singers. I just imitate the way they sing and have bettered my singing skills. We were having a casual jamming session at her apartment and our neighbour actually came to see who was singing so loudly. Later, I went down to apologise. But he surprised me by telling that he is an associate director and asked me to audition for James Vasanthan's musical film”, revealed Maya.

Maya didn’t take it seriously at first as acting was not what she was thinking. Now, she is working with none other than Thalaivar himself. “He's all that people say... extremely humble and a gentleman," she said the Kabali. Interestingly, she is trained gymnast and said she would continue to train.
