Nalan Kumarasamy Talks About Kadhalum Kadhandu Pogum

Nalan Kumarasamy made his directorial debut with the 2013 film Soodhu Kavvum. The movie was a huge success at the box office. He was also part of the directing crew for X: Past Is Present. His next project titled Kadhalum Kadhandu Pogum will be a romantic-comedy.

The director stated, “Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum is a romantic-comedy. Imagine watching a film which is a rom-com that features the kind of friendship one usually gets to witness in films by director Vikraman. That is exactly what my film will be”. Nalan also revealed that his film will have the perfect mixture of romance and comedy. He added, “Usually, you either have a little more romance, or a heavier dose of comedy. Very few movies like Kadhalil Sodhappuvadu Eppadi (2012) and Unnale Unnale (2007) can claim to have a perfect blend of both. My film blends both in equal measure”.

The movie will have Vijay Sethupathi and Madonna Sebastian, making her debut, in the leading roles. Talking about Madonna, the director stated, “I got to know of Madonna through Malayalam director Alphonse Puthran, who sent me her pictures. She was perfect for this character”. Kadhalum Kadhandu was shot in 50 days in Chennai and Kanchipuram.
