Nayanthara’s ‘Dora’ Granted ‘A’ Certificate

    Nayanthara’s ‘Dora’ Granted ‘A’ Certificate

Nayanthara, who is enjoying utmost stardom in K’town with her women-oriented films, is all set to stun the audience with her 2017 debut, which is a horror thriller titled ‘Dora’.  Helmed by Doss Ramaswamy, a former assistant to director Sargunam, the film revolves around Pavalakodi (played by Nayanthara) and her car. Well, the recent update is that the film has been granted ‘A’ certificate by the Censor Board. However, the film being granted ‘A’ certificate came as a bolt from the blue for the makers.

Talking about how ‘Dora’ managed to get an ‘A’ certificate, piqued Nayanthara said, “Since I didn’t want Dora to be another cliched horror flick, I kept those elements to the minimal level and the ‘ghost’ is just a fantasy component in the script. The CBFC has given an ‘A’ certificate, as they felt that the violence in the film was strong despite the fact that there’s hardly any bloodshed or gory scenes in the movie.”

A source informs that the director even settled to chop few sequences from the film, and also took a stance to justify that the film deserved a ‘U’ or ‘U/A’ certification. However, the Board refused to settle. Now that the film is set to premier in Tamil and Telugu on March 31, nothing can be done to change the certification.
