Odiyan News - Sam To Debut In Malayalam Film ‘Odiyan’

It seems that Vikram Vedha fame actor, Sam CS, has been really lucky these days. After his fantastic performances in Tamil cinema, the actor is finally all set to make his debut in the Malayalam film industry with a period drama ‘Odiyan’. Notably, the film also includes the popular star, Mohanlal , who will be playing the titular role of a man possessing shape shifting abilities and assuming animal forms.

While talking about how he got the film, Sam shared with Deccan Chronicle, “Soon after the release of Vikram Vedha I got many offers including from Bollywood for background score. But I am a staunch believer that I have to offer a wholesome package to a film rather than being confined to a particular zone. But, I couldn’t refuse when I was approached for Mohanlal sir’s Odiyan. So intriguing was its premise laced with non-linear narration.”

The popular actor further explained about the Kerala instruments he will be using in the film. Sam CS stated that a 6-feet-long bamboo instrument, which is known for casting aesthetic spells, will be used. He also said that after scouting, the team came across just one old lady who knows how to play the ancient instrument and they used her for this film.
