Paayum Puli’s Release Stalled Over Lingaa Issue

Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association has stalled the release of Vishal Krishna starrer Paayum Puli. The action flick might not hit the theatres on September 4, as scheduled. The producers of the flick, Vendhar Movies, who also distributed Lingaa, haven’t settled the losses for the Rajinikanth starrer film, as yet.

A member from the association said in a statement, “Only half of the promised settlement has reached the distributors of 'Lingaa'. Rajinikanth and the film's producer Rockline Venkatesh managed to settle the loss. But distributors from North and South Arcot, Chengalpet and Trichy are yet to receive the compensation”.

Tamil film producers council is helping Vendhar Movies in the matter. As per a statement from TFPC, “If the exhibitors association doesn't withdraw the red card immediately, the matter will be brought to the notice of Tamil Nadu state government to resolve the issue in a democratic way”. The film helmed by Suseenthiran, also stars Harish Uthaman, Kajal Aggarwal and Aishwarya Dutta in prominent roles.
