    Poorna Gets Upbeat About Savarkatthi

Poorna is one actress who does her job with dedication. She can go to great lengths to get the authenticity of her character. She had shaved her head for her negative role in the movie Kodiveeran. And now she has done something similar for her upcoming film Savarkatthi, where she essays the role of a hearing impaired pregnant lady named Subadhra who is also a mother of two children.

Talking about how challenging it was for her to play Subadhra, Poorna said, “The only thing which made me uncomfortable was to carry a 5 kilo belly bag made especially for this purpose in Mumbai all through 32 days of the shoot. I must thank my director Adhithya and Mysshkin sir who would finish off my portions first and allow me to be free. Otherwise there were no problems. I was given a workshop where I was taught the body language of as to how a pregnant woman walks, sits on the ground, etc. He also gave references as how to tie the sari in a particular manner. Also I have three married elder sisters whom I have been watching when they were pregnant and picked up some tips from them.”

The actress, who simultaneously works in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industry, has dubbed in her voice for the film. Talking about dubbing in her own voice, she said, “I was very stubborn that I would do the dubbing myself despite Mysshkin sir having so much apprehension about it. On the first day of dubbing, I didn’t know what happened to me and I couldn’t speak even a single dialogue and came out of the studio. The next day, somehow I gathered courage and did my work, but took a longer time than normal.”

The 28-year-old says that she would do any role as far as they are interesting and meaty.
