Priyadarshini To Play With The Voices Of The Mind In Pon Maalai Pozhudhu

Priyadarshini S. has always been in love with the idea of Feature Films and this has brought her to shot her first short film 'Pon Maalai Pozhudhu'. This was a successful venture with praise and recognition across the country. The star cast featuring in this short film are Kalesh Ramanand and Lavanya Arty, with symphony of Vishal Chandrashekhar.

As per the sources, Priyadarshini narrates how the idea of this short film happened and explained her love for film making, she says ” I’d written the story for a feature film, titled Meera. But I wanted to do a pilot first because I wanted to test my filmmaking capabilitites”. I come from an ad making background, and it’s different from doing films. Though both are creative processes, I felt there are more challenges in making a film.” She added, So one day, Kalesh and I were sitting at a coffee shop discussing ideas for a pilot. That’s where we decided to make Meera meet her partner using mind voices. I feel that couples themselves are the primary reason for ki cking up trouble in a relationship... much more than external factors. So, what would happen if the protagonists speak only through their minds and emotions, and don’t use words?” The most amusing part of this film is the characters communication, with the voices of the mind, this had altogether given a different dimension to the story and its emotion.

'Pon Maalai Pozhudhu' was screened around the country and was critically acclaimed at BISFF (Bangalore International Short Film Festival) IN August and is later going to be screened at International Film Festival Pune 2018. The movie will also be released online by Venkat Prabhu and Priyadarshini is really excited about it. She is planning to make it into a feature film with flood of ideas in mind, hoping for someone to back her up soon to get things rolling.
